My day at the Espadrille Festival
27 July 2025 was special for me: I presented my paintings at the annual Espadrille Festival (Fête de l’Espadrille) in Saint-Laurent-de-Cerdans. This village has become my home in France, and taking part in an event that brings together local heritage and the community’s contemporary life had a deep meaning for me.
The exhibition: over twenty canvases and one central story
I prepared a selection of more than twenty acrylic canvases: landscapes of the Pyrenees and blooming gardens, abstract compositions with Ukrainian symbols, and works inspired by Saint-Laurent-de-Cerdans itself. The central piece was the painting “Saint-Laurent. Memory of Light” (70 × 50 cm) — an attempt to convey the light, quiet and warmth of a place that filled me with new energy.
Dialogue with people
Throughout the day I talked a lot with visitors: about subjects, symbols, technique and inspiration. It was important for me to feel how local residents and guests perceive my art — and I am sincerely grateful for the openness and support I felt at my stand.
Gratitude and inspiration for the future
The Espadrille Festival for me is not only an exhibition day, but also an opportunity to thank the community for the chance to create and share my stories. Returning to the studio, I took with me dozens of impressions and new ideas that are already taking shape in the next canvases.
Thank you to everyone who was there that day. For me, this is another step in a great dialogue between art, place and people.
My exhibitions are only part of the story. You can see more paintings in my portfolio, where I have gathered the series from 2025 and 2024. I also invite you to take a closer look at the work that became the heart of my display at the Espadrille Festival:
