Anna Mamchur

Welcome to my website!

I am Anna Mamchur, a Ukrainian artist living and working in France.

This website is part of my artistic practice and at the same time an open space for dialogue. Here, painting, projects and research, texts on art, the working process, and author art objects come together as a single field of observation, thought, and sustained presence in art.

This is the only space in which different levels of my artistic practice are combined: painting, projects and research, texts, process, and author art objects. The website is conceived as an open, calm space for gallerists, curators, and collectors, as well as for viewers who seek contemporary art without noise, simplifications, and haste — and who are ready for attentive dialogue with it.

Context

My artistic practice is shaped by duration and responsibility. I work consistently, focusing not on quick results, but on the accumulation of experience, observation, and an internal logic of working with image, space, and time.

I have a formal art education recognised in France and am a member of professional associations. Alongside my artistic practice, I am raising four children, combining studio work with family life.

The experience of time, responsibility, and duration is naturally present in my work, even when it is not the direct subject of the image.

Portfolio

Artistic practice

My primary form of expression is painting. I work with landscape, still life, and figurative motifs, carefully observing light, space, and everyday states that often remain unnoticed.

I am interested not in effect or decoration, but in silence, balance, and a sense of presence in a specific place and moment. Painting for me is a way of fixing time, where observation is more important than interpretation, and the process is more important than a quick result.

The works presented in the portfolio reflect my path as an artist who works consistently and long-term. They are part of the formation of series and future projects that I develop with responsibility and respect for the viewer.

Projects and research

Alongside painted series, I work on intimate projects and artistic research. These works focus on themes of time, responsibility, and the boundary between personal experience and the collective dimension.

Projects of this type have a limited format and number of works. They do not follow a commercial logic and are considered as independent artistic gestures that shape the internal structure of my practice in the long term.

This section presents original paintings available for purchase. Each work is created as a completed artwork and can become part of a private collection or a personal space.

The paintings are executed in a unified authorial style, with attention to composition, colour, and rhythm. They are not repeated or reproduced, which makes each work unique and connected to a specific period of my artistic practice.

Acquiring a painting is a conscious choice in favour of authorial painting created outside of serial production. The works are intended for long-term presence and exist organically both in interior settings and within a collection context.

Author art objects

Cups

Author art objects are a separate direction of my practice and are created as independent artistic forms. For me, this is neither merchandise nor mass market, but a way of transferring artistic thinking into another material context.

All art objects are created in my studio and released in limited editions. Each series has its own logic, rhythm, and internal completeness, while maintaining artistic autonomy.

Art objects can exist independently and become part of everyday space without losing their connection to art. They are created for those who value authorial presence, materiality, and meaning in everyday things.

A separate part of my practice consists of texts about art — about renowned paintings, artists, museums, cities, and places that shape my professional and personal experience.

I write from the position of an artist with professional education and practice, in clear language, without academic dryness. These texts are not an encyclopaedia or a textbook, but rather an invitation to attentive, unhurried reading of art — regardless of age, preparation, or professional background.

In the video section, I share the very process of painting — without explanations or commentary. Only the movement of the hand, paint, and music. For me, it is important to show painting not as a result, but as a prolonged action and a form of presence.

Some of these videos are created with children’s perception in mind. They are a gentle invitation to pause, repeat the movements, and paint together, opening a first experience of creativity through process rather than evaluation.
