Artistic practice

In her artistic practice, Anna Mamchur works primarily with acrylic painting, exploring the interaction of light, space, and symbol. Her works are shaped at the intersection of landscape, decorative tradition, and symbolic thinking.

Her painting focuses on creating a visual space of stillness and inner balance, where colour and form serve not a descriptive but a meaning-forming function. She pays particular attention to tonal harmony, light transitions, and simplified symbolic forms.

In works from 2024–2025, a shift is evident from decorative painting towards a more symbolic artistic language, in which Ukrainian ornamental tradition is combined with a contemporary painterly approach.

The artist’s place of living and working — the south of France — plays an important role in shaping her palette and compositional decisions, reflecting themes of space, light, freedom, and inner harmony.
